wow… you were taking lots of nice pictures in cambodia ya!!! i only managed to snap couples of pictures with the kids and monks… but i enjoyed talking with the people… some of the monk speak japanese.. .so it’s easier for me to get closer to them some of them even offer me a free lodging at their temples… will do so the best time i visit angkor wat again

cecil: for most of the photos, it was a natural pose. they just looked right at the camera when they saw me holding it up. they were really more than happy to pose, wave, do the peace sign. there were a few times though that their parent/guardian was around and when i asked the adult -pointing at the camera and say photo? they’d ask for USD1 – those i didn’t snap.

micki: unfortunately, only a limited number of children obtain proper education & there is also a high infant mortality rate.

Beautiful children’s portraits! They are just so gorgeous! It is so interesting that half of the population are the children under 15. Wow, there must have lots of schools built there, unless some of the children are not in school..

Indrani, Londoncaller, life ramblings : the young ones look really innocent and happy to see new faces of tourists. however although tourism is helping the country’s economy, poverty is still a problem they are facing. as they grow older, many of them are trained to sell things or ask for money with many stories they come up with. it’s quite sad but there are several non-profit organisations set up to actively help the kids of Cambodia so that they have a better lifestyle.
