Gong Xi Gong Xi!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! The past week has been a series of  gatherings and reunions with family and friends. Especially with schools on holiday to celebrate Chinese New Year, this joyous festive period is particularly an enjoyable time for children – with angpows, new year clothing, fireworks, oranges, cookies and plenty of goodies. Here are some of the cheerful faces captured, from open house visiting this year.

It’s always a joy taking pictures of kids – they’re always natural even when a camera is around.

Rafael: yup … it’s all fun fun and fun for them… well for us too haha

chyng: Gong Xi Fa Cai is what we say as a greeting during Chinese New Year. Gong Xi Fa Cai literally means “Wishing you prosperity!”; kids often clasp their hands together and say “Gong Xi Gong Xi” to wish all well during this time. & Cool… have added you to my bloglist too!

Nomadic Pinoy: yea… they’re not camera conscious like adults usu are.. and children are my favourite subject to snap away!

mylo: Gong Xi Fa Cai &… Ang Pow from you too!! Thanks… they’re adorable kids :D

I love your portraiture shots here and the details. They’re so lovely. Plus, the expressions on the faces of the children are absolutely precious. I like how you’ve got them smiling naturally in the camera. Beautiful! ;)
