As we come to a close to this first set of Penang series featuring the highlights of this UNESCO heritage city, thought I’d share photos taken from a wedding held at the grounds of a heritage building in Penang, the Leong Yin Khean Mansion at 32 Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah. Known today as Thirty Two at the Mansion, this building houses a fine restaurant serving western cuisine.
Here are some candid moments captured from Beng and Jamie’s wedding last year at the beautiful garden of Thirty Two at the Mansion, overlooking Penang’s north coast.

Hey lovely shots!
I like the 2nd photo.
Great shots! I used to see a lot of the classic Beetle when I was still in the Philippines – reminds me of childhood.
Love the mansion and the whole set-up for the wedding venue. So beautiful. And I love the car used for the wedding!
Wao Wao….nice and beautiful wedding reception
how lovely the bride is. and the wedding looks perfect too. ♥
Beautiful wedding pictures, I think they are satisfied to your shots!
very nice… love it!! love your style too!! will you willing to be my photographer on my ROM
i just love how you shot the dashboard of the old volkswagon..so classic~
luxurious wedding!!! wish i could afford this in the future
Che-Cheh: thanks gal!
Nomadic Pinoy, Mei Teng: it’s a very old volkswagen.. nearly an antique.. – it belongs to the family who actually drove it for years. has no air cond..so u’ve gotta wind down the windows. i wonder how the bride kept her hair in place in the car.
uLi: yes it was beautiful to be able to exchange vows in such a splendid setting
chyng: yup the bride is very photogenic – all smiles whole time
Rafael Lam: i hope so
Joyce: congratulations on your engagement!! sure i’d be glad to be the photographer for your marriage registration. we shall discuss further and i’ll keep the date free
taufulou: thanks… supposed to give the nostalgic ’50s look
fufu: yes it was in a very pretty setting – and quite a personal one with a handful of close friends and family – just the people who are important to them i guess… so not a large scale one as such.
Excellent candid pictures and a beautiful wedding! I like the Beetle, Volkswagen, especially the second photo of the Beetle
wah lechua….i love ur pics….really my ideal type of wedding photography…
btw, u r so PRO…still wanna join DiGi Photography club? hehehe….can become trainer liow…kekeke
WOW! The garden is so ROMANTIC!!! Perfect setting for R.O.M (love those green ribbons). Your pictures remind me of perfect western weddings. Fun, free and easy
Cheers!
OMG! so well captured, a lovely wedding! marvelllous!
micki: the one of the inside of the beetle?
vialentino: wah.. thanks a bunch for the compliments… there’s still so much to learn from each other – and with more exposure of events to photograph, more opportunity to improve!
mylo: yea this is one of the more modern day weddings but i don’t think it will be too popular amongst the older chinese tradition which emphasizes on having 8 or 9 course meal for a wedding dinner. this is one of the few i come across that serves the western 3 or 4 course meal.
big boys oven: thanks for dropping by here! u guys make excellent wedding cakes
That’s an interesting building.
Kinda art deco to me.
Was it build in the 1920s?
What a great place to hold a wedding ceremony?!
Facing the sea!
yes it is actually… in 1926, said to be influenced by the architecture of London’s Regent Park villas
. The view overlooking the sea really adds to the wonderful setting.
Beautiful set of wedding dinner! So now you are a professional wedding and event photographer?
Cecil: this was more than a year ago assisting as a guest cum second photographer. haha would need more experience to be a truly professional wedding photographer; but i am offering photography services part-time http://www.lechuaphotography.com/photography-services/
Great portait pictures….I like them very much.
greetings, Joop
hi Joop! thanks for your kind comments
Wow, what a beautiful venue! Looks like a fun day!
